James V. Stelly, Owner

James was born and raised in Arnaudville, LA, a small town located along the Bayou Teche.  He graduated from Cecilia High School in 2000 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology with a focus in Safety from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2003.

Upon completing college, James took a position with Northrop Grumman as an Industrial Engineer at their Avondale Shipyard where he worked for two years.  He began his 14 year safety career in 2006 with Lafayette based company Advanced Safety.  He served as a Trainer and Inspector for eight years, then as District Manager for an additional five years.

In 2019, James left Advanced Safety for a position as Safety Manager at NDT company National Inspection Services out of Scott, LA.  Like so many others, the COVID-19 pandemic took its toll on the company and James was laid off.  Although he had considered starting his own safety company for many years, this was the determining act behind the creation of his own safety consulting company in 2020.

James is authorized to teach many different classes including, but not limited to, OSHA 10 and 30 for both General Industry and Construction, First Aid/CPR/AED certification classes, various types of  equipment certifications (forklift, aerial lift, scissor lift, excavator, etc.), ATSSA Flagger Certification, and many more.

James is married with two children, Adam and Laura, whose names are the inspiration behind ARLA Safety and Inspection.  He resides in Arnaudville to this day, and enjoys many days paddling down the Bayou Teche with his family and friends.
